Skimming through old notes, I came across Elgg, an open source PHP/MySQL based social networking engine which started development in 2004 and is still alive and kicking. It’s great to see projects like this making it through the years, a lot of stuff I was revisiting during a recent nostalgia trip just vanished or got abandoned.
